The Lion Roars Foundation is a conservation and social responsibility Foundation dedicated to raising funds for the ongoing preservation of our natural resources and the upliftment of our community.
Established in 2010, the Foundation aims to make a difference in three key areas:
• Partnering with local schools, orphanages and self-help projects on selected community initiatives
• Conservation and protection of dwindling Rhinoceros populations in Southern Africa
• Conservation of the Baakens River Valley in Port Elizabeth
Founded in 2010, the Foundation has spent its first year inaugurating a number of annual fundraising and awareness campaigns to support projects in these three areas. We’re lucky to have a number of accomplished sportsmen in our team, and many of our fundraisers have involved sporting events such as golf days, cycling and running events. While awareness and fundraising are the key drivers, these events also allow us to get together with friends, family, colleagues and our broader community, build relationships and have fun.
We have also spent this year building our relationships with established local conservation and community bodies, to identify the best way to apply funds raised to achieve our conservation and community goals. We are proud to work with and put our shoulders, bicycles and running shoes behind the Save the Rhino Trust, the Chipembere Foundation, the Umzi Wethu Academy and the Eastern Cape arm of the Wildlife & Environmental Society of South Africa (WESSA).
